Let us help you with our survey options

When buying a property it is wise in most instances to arrange for an appropriately qualified surveyor to inspect and report upon findings so that you are correctly informed before committing to a major investment. We are able to provide you with the main three options in terms of survey type available from the RICS.

RICS Home Condition Reports - Level 1.

This is a basic report format although still comprehensive in its subject coverage. Its purpose is to provide a potential purchaser with essential information on structural condition. The report is presented in the highly respected RICS format with its clear traffic-light rating system. Get in touch to learn more.

RICS HomeBuyers' Reports - Level 2.

Homebuyers' reports are the next level of survey format. The report identifies defects (within the practical limitations of a survey) and highlights these problems with a clear traffic-light rating system.

RICS Building Survey Reports - Level 3.

This is the most comprehensive and detailed type of report that is available. It is particularly suitable for older buildings which usually require a greater level of technical understanding. Again, the report is presented in the highly respected RICS format and with its clear traffic-light rating system.

The survey subject areas include:

  • Chimney stacks
  • Roof coverings
  • Rainwater fittings
  • Main walls
  • Doors
  • Conservatory/porch
  • Joinery
  • Roof structure
  • Internal room areas
  • Fireplaces
  • Bathrooms/kitchens
  • Dampness/decay
  • Service installations (but no tests undertaken)
  • Outbuildings
